Stories of the Camino/Cuentos sobre el Camino

Caminocando

It was the fall of 2009. Ricardo Blanco and I were on the terrace of his house in Valle de Bravo in Mexico, enjoying some beer and tequila with his brother Jaime.

“I just did the Camino to Santiago de Compostela,” remarked Jaime. “You’ve got to do it.”

I paid only perfunctory attention, too unimaginative or incurious to ask him why.

Until Ricardo himself called me a year later. “Let’s do the Camino!”

Thus was born a passion, an obsession. Call it what you will, over the last fifteen years I have done twelve walks on eight different caminos, the Francés, those of Finisterre and Muxía-Finisterre, the Portugúes, the Norte, the Primitivo, the Inglés, and the Aragonés.

On this site, I tell some of the stories of those walks.
